From Seed to Success: The Inspiring Growth of Long Walk Farm in Council Bluffs Over the Last 3 Years
Long Walk Farm is a diverse, sustainable and regenerative farm located in Council Bluffs, Iowa. The farm is run by two owners, Matt and Tiffiny.
They both grew up on Nebraska farms themselves. Since starting their business in 2020, Long Walk Farm has become known for selling fresh produce year-round directly to consumers and vendors for use in restaurants.
What sets Long Walk Farm apart is its farming practices. They don’t use Roundup or any pesticides, so if you stop by their farm, the look will be a bit different than you may be used to.
On the farm, you’ll find a variety of lettuce, greens, and all types of produce (you may also see goats and ducks walking around). You can purchase their food on-site or order for local delivery. Even with cold midwest winters, the pair has been able to grow great tasting greens.
Enter the Nebraska Enterprise Fund
Now, with funding from the Nebraska Enterprise Fund, Long Walk Farm has big plans for the future. They’re currently working on building an onsite kitchen and outdoor dining area, which will allow them to host farm-to-table dinners for the local community. This will allow people to experience the farm firsthand and taste the delicious produce that Long Walk Farm is known for.
More people need to know about NEF as an option. It’s nice that it’s a local resource and they care about business’ success.
